As Part of Tasmanian Whisky Week
a unique opportunity to explore, Learn and taste;
the journey of Callington Mill Distillery
In honour of Whisky Week, Callington Mill Distillery is creating a once in a lifetime event for 30 special guests.
We will pick you up from Hobart and return you to Hobart in time for Whisky Show events in the evening.
Our driver will pick you up from Franklin Square at 9.30am on Saturday 13th August and will return you there at 5.30pm.
First Stop - Behind The Scenes at The Callington Mill Cooperage
Learn about Callington Mill's history and our infamous "Oak Policy" which determines our whisky profile and the final character of our Single Malts.
You will learn about our Oak strategy and understand the layers of diversity and complexity we derive from our casks. Plus see a live barrel charring demonstration.
Morning Refreshments will be provided.
After leaving the cooperage we will stop at Dysart house; where it all began and now the site of our Hobby Farm.
Next we travel to the Callington Mill Bond Stores, where we mature our whisky.

John calls Callington Mill the "Rolls Royce" of Tasmanian Whisky Distilleries.
In your time spent at Callington Mill Distillery you will be able to see the whole operation, and will also be able to walk through our heritage site and Mill precinct.
We will start in The Blending Room where you will learn a little of the art of blending and you will get to sample and nose some peated whisky.
