The former Warder Castle Inn, now a two-storey stone residence, stands with a commanding presence at Oatlands’ Southern End. Its striking iron hip roof, carefully chiselled stone quoins, and a stately five-bay facade tells takes of a historical significance. Together with its stone outbuildings, the property forms a charming courtyard, echoing whispers of bygone merriment and revelry.

Edmund White, The original innkeeper, was known for his generous spirit, stretching the licensing rules and turning the inn into a vibrant social hub, hosting committee meetings for the Oatlands races, public balls and even patrons resistant to leave after-hours with statements like, “Surely you won’t stop me now, I’ve come seven miles for this!”

Today, as a private residence, this former inn still retains its historical charm reflected in the essence of this limited edition whisky - a tribute to resilience transformation, and enduring charisma.

TASTING NOTES

Colour: Rich Golden Brown

Nose: Lifted and floral with a delicate layer of honey and spice. Cinnamon, sweet mandarin peel and lightly charred oak fill your glass as you take your first sip.

Palate:
A full, balanced palate with toasted oak, Christmas spice,
cocoa, and orange. Exceptional mouthfeel and flavour that melds well with the Cask Strength characteristics.

Finish: The finish is long and persistent with toasted marshmallow and toffee giving a wonderful, lingering sweetness to your tasting experience.

Cask: Aged in sherry casks and further enriched by evolving in an ex-Bourbon Rum cask from the Caribbean, these whiskies exemplify the pinnacle of craftsmanship.
