Arthur's Lake is located in the central highlands rugged region of Tasmanian and is the pristine water source for Callington Mill Distillery's single malt whisky.
Arthurs Lake is also home to Callington Mill Blue Lake Lodge – Located at 1042
meters above sea level - where we have been quietly maturing our whisky in the brooding climate and biodiversity of the Tasmanian wilderness.
It is within this unspoiled setting that our whisky casks mature outside, soaking in the pure air and clean waters, imparting unique wild characteristics to our whisk of
honey, butterscotch, luscious white flowers, coconuts, and vanilla.
CALLINGTON MILL DISTILLERY
The main event of the Callington Mill Whisky tour takes place within the historic Callington Mill Distillery. Built-in 1837 by English entrepreneur John Vincent, Callington Mill stands as the only 19th-century operational tower mill in the southern hemisphere. Originally powered by a unique fusion of wind and steam, it was long whispered to have dual purposes in both flour milling and alcohol brewing. Today it is where we craft our limited edition whisky, embracing John Vincent’s rebellious spirt and Oatlands’ complex history.

Day Three: BLUE LAKE LODGE - OATLANDS
• Kickstart your day with a sumptuous breakfast.
• Training on the shore how to fly fish.
• Engage with Tasmania’s untouched beauty on a bush walk, with a chance to spot the intriguing devils near the Devil’s Den.
• Kayaking available for those interested.
• Revel in fly fishing under expert guidance, with an added prospect of a boat (Weather dependant) enhancing the experience.
• A delectable cooked lunch is followed by an intimate whisky tasting at the Blue Lake Lodge.
• Conclude your journey as we transport you back to Oatlands.

For your convenience, private car and driver services are available to transport you from Oatlands to the lodge and back. The whisky has been quietly maturing at Callington Mill Blue Lake Lodge. Here, casks of whisky are left to mature outdoors, absorbing the pure air and pristine waters, resulting in a distinctive flavour profile boasting notes of honey, butterscotch, white flowers, coconut, and vanilla.
