EXPERIENCE BLUE LAKE LODGE

TASMANIAN COOL CLIMATE SINGLE MALT WHISKY
46% ABV • 700 ml

Arthur's Lake sits in the rugged central highlands of Tasmania, and is the pristine water source for Callington Mill's single malt whisky. It is also home to Blue Lake Lodge — where whisky casks are matured outdoors, exposed to the brooding highland climate, the wilderness air and the extraordinary biodiversity of the Tasmanian wilderness. An environment unlike any other distillery in the world.

The result is a whisky shaped by place in the most literal sense. Initially maturing in Sherry and Port casks, the whisky then evolved through three distinct large casks — Bourbon ex-Muscadelle, Bourbon ex-Rum, and Australian Tawny — each adding a new layer of character drawn from the land around it.

Delicate straw in the glass. On the nose, vibrant vanilla, luscious white flowers, coconut and sweet buttery caramel with hints of maple. The palate is nutty and layered — sweet maple, butterscotch, vanilla oak, liquorice and berry notes with hints of brown sugar. The finish is long and sweet, with incredible depth, rich nougat and lingering oak. Viscous, robust, complex — a wilderness that refuses to be tamed.

Awarded Gold at the 2025 World Whisky Masters, Silver at the 2025 IWSC with 94 Points, Silver at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and Best Label Design at the 2024 World Whiskies Awards. An exclusive Tasmanian single malt whisky unlike anything else in the range.
Natural colour. Non-chill filtered. Full term ageing. First fill, wet freshly decanted casks.

A deliciously smooth sipping whiskey, drinking straight over ice. Beautiful lingering flavour & the glass was a lovely addition.

Hi Karolyn, thank you for the five-star review of Blue Lake Lodge. So glad it came through smooth and lingering for you. The glass is one of our favourite details too, small touches like that make the drinking experience feel complete.

I am loving the Blue Lake Lodge. To me, this is smooth and round, vanilla and nougat, light spice, sultanas, dried apricot, caramel toffee. The bourbon/port influence is very subtle - definitely doesn't dominate. It is a good compliment to the Quagmire and the Fusion (which are both my faves). I'll be getting another of this limited release to save for later.

Hi Darren, thank you for such a generous and detailed review. Lovely to hear the vanilla, nougat and dried fruit character coming through and that the bourbon/port influence is landing so well. Glad it's holding its own alongside the Quagmire and the Fusion, great company to keep. This is one worth having on hand.

With great expectations, I cracked open my bottle and eagerly tasted the golden liquid dram.
I nearly vomited…..it had the most awful smell and taste? I placed the bottle back in the cabinet and wondered what to do with my rather premium purchase. Two nights later, curiosity got the better of me and I decided to give it another try. This time a beautiful aroma emanated from my glass and a moth full of flavour enveloped my mouth and ignited my frontal cortex!!!! A most delicious and profound dram indeed. In all my years, I have never experienced this. So to anyone out there trying out this or any new bottle of whisky, be aware of this possibility. Allow a bit of airing first and you will be rewarded.

Thank you for giving it a second chance, Barry. We are so glad the Blue lake Lodge came good for you in the end. That's a great tip about letting it air out; oxygen really can open up a whisky's aromatics and flavour, especially with cask-strength or more complex expressions. We'll take 'ignited my frontal cortex' as the highest compliment. Cheers for sharing your journey with us!

Gday. I havent tasted as i prefer to collect. I would love to though...
One thing i was a bit dissapointed with was that i have a bottle of the original BLL and for some reason was expecting that this bottle, some 2 years later, would be batched or packaged in a way which indicated it is different to the first.
Having checked back on the advertising its quite ambigious but "sort of" elludes to it being distincely different. Same bottle, same.packaging ..... So very clearly the same.
Never mind im sure they are great and as a collector im not concerned. Just a thought...
Hey any one there know where i can get my hands on the the first two heritage series bottles???

Thanks for the feedback, BJ Vincent and we certainly understand your point from a collector’s perspective.

Blue Lake Lodge is a seasonal limited release that we intend to continue each year, rather than a numbered series where each release becomes BLL 1, BLL 2, BLL 3 and so on. It’s similar to our Amphora and Solera releases - each batch is limited and the whisky itself will naturally evolve from release to release, but the identity and packaging remain consistent.

In many ways, the same applies across our range. When an expression such as El Sol sells through, the next batch is created from different casks while remaining unmistakably El Sol.

That said, your point about making the distinction between annual Blue Lake Lodge releases clearer is a very fair one, particularly for collectors, and something we’ll certainly take on board.

As for the first two Heritage Series bottles, those have sold through and we don't have plans for further releases, so your best bet from here is keeping an eye on the secondary/collector market.

And thank you for collecting our whisky - we genuinely appreciate it.

We made a planned drop-in to Callington Mill a few years ago and after a delicious meal and a personal tour of the distillery with Josh, I decided that I needed one of these beauties. Simply the best! Do yourselves a favour and get on this one now before they’re all gone.

Hi Paul, thank you for such a wonderful five-star review. It's lovely to hear that visit has stayed with you, from the meal through to Josh's tour of the distillery, and that it led you to bring a Blue Lake Lodge home with you. We really appreciate you recommending it to others.
