Winner of the 2026 World Whisky Awards Category Winner and Australia Single Malt Winner, Amphora begins its life matured in a selection of Sherry, Tokay and Brandy casks — a rich and layered foundation. From there, it takes a pioneering turn: transferred into three handmade 350-litre clay amphorae and left to rest undisturbed for two silent years.

Long before barrels, there were amphorae — handcrafted clay vessels used for millennia to ferment and preserve the world's most precious liquids. No staves. No char. Just time, earth and spirit. The result is a Tasmanian single malt whisky shaped by stillness — exceptionally smooth, grounded, and unlike anything else in the glass.

On the nose, sun-warmed earth, caramelised vanilla and toasted hazelnuts. On the palate, milk chocolate, roasted almonds and dark stone fruits, with soft vanilla and the faintest trace of smouldering embers. The finish is long and poised — charred oak and fine spice lingering into dark chocolate and fruitcake.

Natural colour. Non-chill filtered. Full term ageing. First fill, wet freshly decanted casks.

Our Amphora story begins with a whisky matured in a selection of Sherry, Tokay and Brandy casks — a rich and layered foundation. From there, it embarked on a pioneering journey, transferred into three handmade 350L clay Amphorae and left to rest undisturbed for two silent years.

WHAT IS AMPHORA?

A DIFFERENT KIND OF MATURATION

Long before barrels, there were amphorae. Handcrafted clay vessels used for millennia to ferment and preserve the world’s most precious liquids. In a bold return to this ancient method, our single malt was fully matured in oak casks before being transferred into clay and left to rest in silence for two years.

No staves. No char. Just time, earth and spirit.

The result is a whisky shaped by stillness. Exceptionally smooth. Grounded. Unlike anything we’ve released before.

TASTING PROFILE

WHAT’S INSIDE THE GLASS?

Appearance: A lustrous auburn-gold with a refined reddish hue, capturing the eye with warmth and depth, a visual prelude to the complexity within.

Nose: Earth-driven and intricately layered. Aromas of sun-warmed soil and dry hay intertwine with aged oak, giving way to elegant notes of caramelised vanilla, toasted hazelnuts, and a delicate hint of strawberry preserve.

Palate: Silky and structured with a graceful oiliness. Layers of milk chocolate, roasted almonds, and dark stone fruits evolve across the palate, underpinned by soft vanilla, a wisp of sweet tobacco, and the faintest trace of smouldering embers.

Finish: Long and poised. Charred oak and fine spice linger with distinction, finishing on a subtle crescendo of dark chocolate, fruitcake, and well-integrated tannins.
